Graduate Degrees
At the School of Music, we offer both a master's and a doctoral degree in conducting. Prerequisites for the Master of Music in Conducting choral track include a bachelor's degree in music or music education (or the equivalent), including keyboard skills and proficiency in either voice, piano or organ equivalent to the completion of the third year of undergraduate instruction at the university.
Prerequisites for the master's instrumental music conducting track include a bachelor's degree in music or music education (or the equivalent), including keyboard skills and proficiency in either a keyboard or orchestral instrument (for orchestral conducting) or a wind or percussion instrument (for winds conducting), equivalent to the completion of the third year of undergraduate instruction at the university.
The Doctor of Musical Arts in Conducting also allows you to choose choral or instrumental tracks.
