Offered through the prestigious Darla Moore School of Business, our accounting degree provides a solid technical education that equals the best schools in the Southeast. The Moore School blends fundamental coursework in the liberal arts and sciences with a strong business core, which prepares our students for the global marketplace.

What to Expect

To prepare to become a successful accounting professional in a global information society, you will learn about the complete accounting cycle, including cost analysis and interpreting financial statements. You also will develop knowledge in tax, accounting information systems and auditing.

Field trips to leading industries, service-learning opportunities, access to our accounting mentoring program and supervised internships will expose you to firsthand knowledge and experience so that you are well-equipped with the skills required to maintain a competitive edge in our demanding industry.

Winning first place in the Association for Business Communication’s national writing competition was a really encouraging feeling, especially in regard to my academic and professional pursuits. To be nationally recognized as a sophomore for utilizing skills that I learned at the Moore School is an awesome feeling.

Graduate Degrees

The Darla Moore School of Business offers a master’s degree in accountancy and a dual degree program that culminates in a Master of Accountancy and a Juris Doctor.

Application information for this degree is available through The Graduate School.

Through special arrangement, the university offers dual degree programs in certain areas to permit a student to work on two degrees concurrently by combining credits, resulting in the student taking fewer courses than the total required if each degree were pursued independently.

This program, offered by the Darla Moore School of Business and the School of Law, culminates in a Master of Accountancy and a Juris Doctor.
