Why Study International Finance
The International Finance Graduate Certificate is a unique opportunity for those with interests or careers in finance and related fields to gain specialized knowledge and skills in international finance and investments. The certificate offers courses that analyze the international financial environment and the multinational corporation, financial management of multinational corporations, international investments and portfolio management and international corporate governance. The program can result in a variety of employment options given the unmet demand in the finance field for employees with a critical understanding of international finance and investments.
Academic Requirements
All candidates pursuing this certificate are required to complete 12 credit hours with nine hours in core courses and three hours in an elective course. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or better across the four courses.

- IBUS 701: International Financial Management
- IBUS 711: Global Corporate Valuation
- IBUS 714: Global Equity Investments
Electives (three hours)

- IBUS 790: Cybersecurity: Managing Risks in a Digital Age
*Students may request that other courses be substituted for the courses above
Who Should Apply
The program is open to working professionals and students who are not already enrolled in a graduate programs at the Darla Moore School of Business. Those with a bachelor’s degree and basic knowledge of and/or professional experience in corporate finance and financial management are encouraged to apply.
Those without previous financial experience or knowledge will be required to complete a one-week intensive workshop on key financial concepts prior to starting classes.
How to Apply
Non-Moore School Students / Non-Degree Seeking Students
Students who are not currently enrolled in a graduate program at the Darla Moore School of Business need to apply through the Graduate School at UofSC.
This certificate provides relevant coursework to apply for graduate programs such as the Professional MBA or One-Year MBA. Those interested in pursuing a master’s program at the Darla Moore School of Business will have the opportunity to transfer nine credit hours into a master’s program (subject to approval by the Moore School Graduate Program Committee).
