The CDO Role in Shaping a Data-Driven Organization

  • We will go through the typical components of the chief data officer role, how the role is evolving while being the crossover from technology into the business, what it takes for the role to be successful and enable a data driven organization.
  • We will look at a real-life study of the data infrastructure design, buildout and rollout in Cardtronics.
  • Finally, we will look at key case studies where analytics and stats modeling were leveraged and ended up playing a game changing role for Cardtronics in driving incremental revenues, in saving bottom line costs while being instrumental in setting a culture of data driven thinking within the entire organization.

Maha Sivara

Maha Sivara is the Chief Data Analytics Officer for Cardtronics since Sept. 2019, before which he was with Capital One for almost 20 years in data leadership roles within multiple businesses such as card, mortgage and auto finance. He got his MBA in finance  and information systems in 1998 from the Kelley School of Business, Indiana, Bloomington. Maha also has a bachelors in engineering from REC Trichy and a masters in engineering from the National University of Singapore.

He has led multiple large complex data transformations in his career with focus on: analytics/stats modeling to drive new revenues, data Infrastructure migrations, reporting and geospatial tools and data governance. As the CDO, he is very passionate about setting the data culture and evolving the data talent to enable creation of a long term differentiated data driven organization.

On a daily basis, he is inspired by his wife and daughter and is also the diversity executive for Cardtronics, being a passionate advocate of woman and minority empowerment. Originally from Mumbai, he loves playing and watching cricket, singing and loves to travel.
