In most communities, there is no designated forum for regular collaboration among all the government agencies and external organizations that serve children and youth. A children’s cabinet provides a space for government agencies and community stakeholders (such as the local children’s hospital, United Way or Boys and Girls Club) to create a shared vision for local children and work together to make that vision a reality by including all voices in the community. By seamlessly coordinating the supports and services a community provides, children’s cabinets address young people’s holistic needs as they grow and develop.
