• Override requests are considered on a case-by-case basis. Requests from seniors or majors who need a course to graduate are prioritized. Requests are reviewed to ensure that prerequisites, classroom capacities, and Instructor workloads are considered.  Consequently, an immediate response is not possible.
• L01 sections are restricted to Carolina Online students only. P01 sections are restricted to students enrolled in the Palmetto College. J01-J08 sections are restricted to other campuses and not available to Columbia students.
• Please include all possible sections you can take.  If your override is declined for one section and no other sections are included in your request, no override can be given.
• Students must be advised before they can register for classes.
• Always click on the title of a course/section in Self Service Carolina to see specific notes.  The details there may explain why an error message is appearing when attempting to register for a specific section.
• Overrides are not issued when open seats are available in other sections for the same course.
• Overrides are not possible in the following sections or courses: H10, a section that meets with H10, H01, J10-20 Spanish, SPAN 304, SPAN 305, SPAN 316
• Requests for overrides into Spring 2023 semester courses will not be considered or processed until after Monday, November 28, 2022.
