The Department of Anthropology is engaged in dynamic research and scholarship. Since the beginning of 2020, faculty in our department have published three new books with major academic presses as well as more than 30 peer reviewed articles and book chapters. Our faculty, whose travel and participation in conferences was curtailed due to COVID-19, still delivered 46 academic public presentations at conferences. And in the past five years, faculty were awarded a combined 46 grants, both extramural and internal, to support ongoing programs of research.
