Carolina Clemson Blood Battle

One of the largest blood drives in the country is held annually the week before the Carolina-Clemson football game. UofSC competes with Clemson in collecting blood for local hospitals and life-saving procedures. During the 2021 Blood Battle, UofSC collected 2,026 pints of blood. Along with Clemson, a total of 5,284 pints of blood were collected over the week. The drive comes at the start of the holiday season when blood donations typically decrease. The Carolina-Clemson Blood Drive Committee is the second-largest student-run organization on UofSC's campus.
